Geomantic Prayer Beads

Reyasdottir

On the Capitol Steps, gazing west across the national mall, I quiet my mind, open my heart. I listen for the voice of God:

I AM OPEN TO SACRED VISIONS.

Geomantic Prayer Beads

I love the swampy landscape of Washington DC, also the masonic patterns overlaid on the land as well as the public buildings, monuments and museums that are iconic all over the world. I've studied the history of these places and have also literally spent time with them, sitting on the steps in front of the Capitol (which is 10 blocks from where I live), on the shores of the Potomac, the garden behind the Smithsonian castle and the smooth marble benches all around the Washington Monument.

Over time, all that studying and sitting evolved into a practice of listening and praying whenever I visited the sites. For instance, the fact that the Capitol is situated at the exact center of the four quarters of DC, {placed there with precision by the masons), must account for the fact that the energy there is rotational. Sometimes clockwise, sometimes counterclockwise, fast, slow, jerky or consistent, the energy in the Capitol is always turning, except for a couple of years after 9/11 when it was frozen solid. So my meetings with the Capitol got me to wondering about the power of the vortex, of course. It also reveals one reason why Congress has such a hard time being effective. It would be tough to think while being swung around all the time, don't you think?

When the weather is warm I often ride my bike from one site to the next, sometimes stopping, sometimes just riding past to say hello and to gather the energy of each one of my friends and teachers (as I now think of these sites).

One day it occurred to me that these bike rides were analogous to Donald's prayer beads, since I travel from one to the next, offering the prayers with gratitude and wonder.

I am so happy and proud to share the practice I call it geomantic prayer beads. May the land become our brother!

With love, Reyasdottir

It always delights me to the core to see Folks manifest into Midgard, new inspirations from Mystery. Here is a wonderful new expression of Pagan Prayer Beads brought to us by our dear Reyasdottir. I am looking forward to seeing how this new form of prayer beads will inspire us all.
